Santa Barbara

In Santa Barbara Jonathan was able to do a lot of Freebording, which lead us to some very pretty places up in the hills. 

One of his favorite hills happened to be the road my Aunt and uncle lived off of.

We were very thankful to get to stay with my Aunt Joy. Her new home is lovely, it's so bright and clean. She is also a wonderful hostess. We had great times eating and having youngest child support talks. :) lol

It was exciting to me to take car of Joy's dog Bear for the day. We took him all over the place with us. He was very chill and fluffy.

San Diego 2

In San Diego we went on another hike with Tracie. This one was called Three sisters waterfall. I struggled on this hike, it was very strenuous. It was a 4 mile hike with 1000 vertical ft. It was also called a reverse hike meaning, you go down, then back up.

There were parts of the hike were you had to repel down with an anchored rope. The ground was also very loose.

When you reach the top there are two water pools and some waterfalls. It was a warm day and the coo water felt great to dip my feet in. 

I had a hard time going back up, I was pooped. 

In the picture below you can see the spot we hiked to in the background. It is a small dot.

All in all I was thankful to do this hike even though I was sore for a couple days after. It is so neat to see such beautiful places.

Back to San Diego

We went back to San Diego after Cabo. The weather was nice, although a bit cold for us after all the time spent in Mexico. 

We visited Balboa park, there are so many gorgeous buildings and gardens there. We had a great time walking around. It was nice also that they had a tram going around the park, so we hopped on and rode it around and enjoyed the laziness. 

This cactus in the garden was huge. 

It was also nice to see Tracie again and spend some time with her. We had fun walking around Pacific Beach and checking out the shops in the area.

We were able to go to a ballgame as well. The night started out at a bar called Moonshine Flats. Getting there early worked for us because we got into a private party where thy were giving away all sorts of free stuff. We got beer coozies, shirts, bottle openers, a big foam finger. I was stoked, I love freebies.

It was the Padres and Giants, and being in San Diego people were rooting for the Padres. Jonathan and I were rooting for the Giants. Unfortunately they did not win. Bummer! Still a super fun game.

Family time

It was so great to be with family in Cabo, at night we would play card games. I won every time. ;)

There were also a few riveting games of Shuffle board.

Jonathan also finally convinced his Dad to compete in foosball. It was a pretty close game, but Jonathan took the game.

The Beach in Cabo

We spent a some time at the beach in Cabo, the beach right outside of our resort was nice, although the water was rough. Here are some pictures of Steelie and Holly digging and playing at the resort. I love Steelie's swimsuit!

Food in Cabo

While in Cabo we had a lot of delicious food! Being fortunate to have kitchens to prepare our own meals allowed us to even visit the markets. Mexican supermarkets are intense, they are filled with all sorts of items you don't usually see in American markets. One of the exceptional items were the string cheese. Not only was it delectable, it was long!

It was also very nice to go out to eat once in a while. Our first great outing was to Jasmine's, boy oh boy was this delicious! I got the mix fajitas, Jonathan had fish stuffed chicken. We also had free margaritas.

We also went to eat at a place called Salomon's Landing. This place was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. This was also amazing, Jonathan and I shared a seafood calzones, and fish stuffed fish.

Before we ordered I told our server that it was Mike's birthday...when we were all done with our dinner's they brought out a flan for us to share! Too funny!

One more great place we dined was at Guacamaya's. Oh boy! We loved it here, and so did everybody else. Everybody visited them a few times throughout our trips. On the menu they have this pork taco, you can see them shaved the pork from the spic that has a pineapple on top dripping over it, then they shave a small bit of pineapple in the taco too. I had a pumpkin flower quesadilla, and I really liked the pork shoulder taco. Yum! 

Besides going out we had several family meals back at our rooms. Tacos, Tacos, Tacos!!!!

Welcome To Cabo

Cabo's ocean is so picturesque. A lot of my Mexico posts will involve pictures of the ocean. Jonathan is a wonderful photographer.

Early in the morning at the resort they comb the sand so it looks smooth and clean. One of those mornings, Jonathan went down and wrote Magee in the fresh sand. It was really cool and you could really only read it from the upper stories.

It is such a pleasure to be here in Cabo. Jonathan and I have been going to "presentations", where we get to see some luxurious resorts in the area. They provide breakfast and they reward us for our time. It's pretty cool to make a little money while on vacation. 

The resort we are staying at also has a lot of activities to participate in, like pool-side bingo, lazy game of the day, free taco night, Karaoke, water aerobics. The pool is also great! Even more fun things we have done around here are, basketball, tennis, golf, foosball, and pool. It's a lot of fun to always have an activity to chose from. 

When we all wind down for the night, we tend to play card games and read books. So far it's a very relaxing vacation.
