~Pabst Tour~
Me with Captain Pabst
Traveling through Milwaukee afforded us the opportunity to tour the original Pabst brewing buildings.
|
Under the guidance of his son Phillip Best and Phillip’s son-in-law, Captain Frederick Pabst, a small local producer became America’s largest brewer from the late 1800s until 1946. | ||
| With the closing of the brewery in 1996 came the opening of opportunity. After many years of blood, sweat, and beers, the “best use” of these buildings has fermented into Best Place at the historic Pabst Brewery taking its name from the founders, Jacob Best and Phillip Best and its spirit from the Captain, Frederick Pabst. | ||
The hinge on this door made it swing both ways.

This used to be offices and now they use it for weddings and gatherings.
The original floors were awesome.
Years ago, if you took the tour, at the end you would have a full hour to drink all the beer you wanted. Now they limit you to one free one. And more free beer if you answer questions correctly.
All the old doors and stained glass throughout was really neat.
This is a double bar. The door leads to a bar on the other side.

Again, a nice informative tour. We did the same one back in the days when you could have all the beer you wanted.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool building but not the best beer. That is cool to say you have been there.
