Apple season in New York!! We finally understand why New York is called the big apple. There are apple farms everywhere!!
At this one they had chickens and goats we could feed and love. :)
It was such a pretty place and smelled like kettle corn as you walked up.
These are all apples from this farm, and next to this table they had them cut up for samples. That way you can really decide what you like best.
We bought cider and kettle corn then we shared a slice of Apple pecan crumble pie ala mode. After that we shared a bowl of pumpkin corn chowder.
Now onto our hike. Good Luck Cliffs is one of the the most challenging hikes in the southern Adirondacks. The start of the hike is quite unassuming - until you start the ascent to the top of the cliffs! Although not a technical climb, the last 0.5 mile will get your heart pumping. The view from the top of the cliffs is definitely worth the effort, as you get a spectacular view of Spectacle Lake (named for it's shape, similar to a pair of glasses) and the southwestern Adirondacks.
It was steep!
We made it to the top!
Beautiful views.
We even brought a couple of beers to enjoy at the top.
So many leaves on the ground. Jonathan's feet are totally covered.
Another great hike! Wishing I was burning calories as I watch the pictures :)
