Our first stop in Vermont was Bennington. We rolled into town after dark, and we were hungry, so we stopped at a brewery called Madison Brewery. They had the best pumpkin beer and put cinnimon and sugar on the rim. Yummy!
Our first covered bridge in Vermont.
Vermont seemed to be the jackpot for big chairs. This one was one of my favorites, I really like the ladder back. :)
A beautiful cemetery in Bellows Falls, VT. The cemeteries is New England were so old, the headstones were very thin. I have never seen cemeteries like this. I love the history.
This cavern in the ground was used to keep bodies in until they were able to be buried.
More covered bridges. These were some of my favorite things to see.
This particular one was ruined in one the last big storms in the area. It was then rebuilt with the same intergrity as when it was first built.
A quick stop for some pure drinking chocolate in Walpole.
Delicious!
Most of the homes in Walpole were white except for a small few that were either yellow or cream colored. I was taken with this one. I thought it would be perfect for my Mom! :)
Vermont is also the home of a Springfield. This particular Springfield won a contest for the Simpson's, who was asking different Springfield's around the country to say why they were the Simpson's Springfield.
For winning they got this life sized Simpson's couch.
